The minutes are a little spare for our first meeting, which was more of an informal touching-base session. Nevertheless, for posterity, here they are.

Open Space
Open space is a very important issue for all of us in Jersey City. There are several groups around here that are working hard to help create parks and protect open spaces. Connect the Parks is having an event Sunday the 24th at the end of Washington St. & Pennisula Park.
Go here http://www.paulushook.net/meetings/2007/06/connect-parks-june-24th-noon-to-5pm.html for more info. I hope that people show up.
I also added a link to the Embankment under general links. Please support the Embankment!

Good Meeting
I just wanted to say that I walked away from our first mini-meeting feeling very good. I believe that there is a lot of potential for us to grow into a positive force in Jersey City politics.

Jersey City DFA formed June 14th!
Hey Tavie!
Great to meet you tonight and thanks for setting this up so quick; I'm going over to Yahoo to set up our yahoo group next as "Jersey City DFA". Also great to meet Cheryl, see Gina and all who came!
Good meeting tonight with our core in attendance, 6 and more to follow. I'm glad we all agreed on complete transparency in our DFA link, our blogs and our yahoo group: everyone will be able to email, post, create events, blog, comment, without moderator interference or delay. If we want transparency in good government we have to walk the walk and talk the talk. :-)
So I will send you links, etc, as I have time, but tired now and need to veg till later.
Bright Moments!
